Raised Into Sci-Fi
My earliest for Raised into sci-fi was through this far right wing writer who was responding to a Marxist, Olaf Stapleton's Last and First Men and Star Maker. When I read Star Maker that was such an empowering vision that has always stayed with me. And I would just say just as an interjection, Stapleton in a way is closer to the kind of sci-fi that I want, like a social vision rather than a technological black box. There's a fuzzy boundary between utopian and science fiction writing that I think maybe we could explore more.
