The Story of a Missing Woman

In 19 99, four women had gone missing from the downtown east side of Vancouver. The official count was 31 but most people believed it to be higher. Many have later speculated that the lower number was because robert picton had realized he was under surveillance. As we know, he was paranoid, so likely cut back on his activity and was extra cautious. Since port caquitlam was under r c m p jurisdiction, they conducted a separate investigation starting in october 1999. They designated the coquitlam strike force unit and provincial unsolved homicide unit to focus on robert Picton.
