The Endowed Progress Effect

There's an effect for this called the zagarnic effect which shows that some research has shown that like uncompleted tasks tend to weigh more heavily on our mind. We call them to memory more quickly, we find it more difficult to like forget about them and we're more eager to complete those tasks. There's another phenomenon that I like to call the endowed progress effect,. It's the idea that again like once you feel a sense of progress towards a goal you were more likely to go back and keep working towards it. So these researchers did an experiment with a car wash when they gave people those little punch cards.
