Temple Rebuilders - A Brief History
The governor of the province beyond the river, or the trans euphrates, was tatenai. He along with his associates questioned the temple rebuilders. They did not directly oppose the project in the way that the jews samaritan's neighbors had. However, they wanted to know their authorization. While wanting to confirm that the attornees were authorized, they did not put a halt to the project.
