Peggy Drexler's parents adopted an orphan girl. They decided to teach her how to ride a pretend horse. She rode Cordy, named him after the concord grapes that covered his body in the summer. Unlike real horses, who shed their coats in the spring, Cordy shed his grapes and leaves in the fall.
