Ben Ben-Ghiat: I predicted this situation wasn't going to be like the 2008 banking crisis. But my expectation at that point was it wasn't on such a huge scale, right? He says banks have tightened up underwriting standards but lending hasn't fallen off much in recent months. "I'm actually now going to move again next year, 2024. I am going back to my alma mater," he says of his new job as professor at Brown University.
