The Constraints Around Evolving Languages
The more popular your language, the harder it is going to be to change it. Backwards compatibility and pressure from all the existing source code that's out there are two big constraints on evolving languages. A lot of people are kind of fairly obsessed with the popularity of their language. I'm not indifferent but not that, not a thing I spend my time thinking about very much.
