Movie Review - Is There a Power in the Movie?
The film is based on the novel of the same name by James Baldwin. The plot centers around a young boy and his tutoring sessions with an older, rich man. When he goes to tutor this other kid, it's revealed that both men are wealthy politicians in their own right. It was almost as if the power was an afterthought in the movie,. Very odd. I think they were trying to get off that he's a bad guy from the start, i think. But then on thi subtitles you see martin sheen say, old people are buying dog food to eat because they're just poor. An awirin civic, watching session, just such a weird middle man.
