The Bats Are Suffering From Heat Waves

Bats are susceptible to extreme heat, so the increased frequency of heat waves and climate change driven heat events as causing a huge mortality in flying fox camps. So we can lose up to four or five thousand bats in a day. At the end of a difficult day in a heat wave, the mood is one of depression and exhaustion. They've been in an ocean of death and dying. We know that 50 degrees celsius is on its way. It's going to happen. And when 50 degrees arise in melbourne over it will kill them all.
