Dave Riddle: Volcom had really been seen as a free surfing brand for most of the time. None of them made the quarterfinals here. That is a result that I would say is lackluster for them. Kelly Slater, Stephanie Gilmore, Felipe Toledo and Tyler Wright were all bundled out before the quarterfinals.
