My family story connecting to the Second World War is a complicated one. On my mother's side, connection to the war is a first cousin of my grandmother who served in the Royal Air Force during the WWII. He was lost over Germany in 19, in September, 1943, during a raid on Hanover. But rather than being marked as KIA on the record, he was marked as prisoner of war,. And this is where things got interesting. Tommy Brennan, Sergeant Tommy Brennan, an air gunner, ends up being connected with three different camps. A camp in Lithuania, what's their modern day Lithuania, a camp in Poland, and a camp actually not too far away from Hanover
