The Carbonari - A Secret Society of Revolutionaries

Carbonari inhabited the dense woods of europe and were either shunned or ignored by more respectable farmers and city dwellers on the edges of civilization. They probably came together to pledge each other support, mutual defense and assistance. It was a very much you watch my back and i'll watch your back type of situation out the forests of europe. But that is all just speculation because by the time modern historians encounter the carbonari, everything has been filtered through multiple levels of propaganda, deceit and self aggrandizing myth.
