When we were using Kubernetes, sometimes upgrades wouldn't go as smoothly. We had more problems or maybe it was more work when it was on prem but this I think is one of the good things of the managed service. Google does everything for us. So either we decide when to do it manually, and which is probably for major upgrades,. But minor upgrades are just a maintenance window and it kind of happens.
