The difference between systematic trading and trend following is often lost to many investors. The extreme of the high frequency traders who are all in positions for tiny tiny fractions of a second can be very hard to get across, says John Defterios. If you were to swap them around and get them to run each other's strategies I think they would struggle because it is a completely different world.
