constructive theory forbids certain kinds of theories from being possible. In the prevailing conception, the theories forbid just what physical phenomena are possible. So they don't say laws of dynamics don't say that a perpetual motion machine is impossible. That somebody can, but there, physicists have conjectured for over 100 years that there is a principle of physics.
This is my interview with David Deutsch, Visiting Professor of physics at the Centre for Quantum Computation, the Clarendon Laboratory, Oxford University and an Honorary Fellow of Wolfson College, Oxford. We discuss the constructor theory of information, some of its conjectured principles, the unification of classical and quantum information, and more.
