CHAPTER

The Nobel Prize Winners, Andy Fier and Craig Miller

Andy Fier and Craig Miller won the Nobel Prize in 2006 for their work on RNA interference. They found that double-stranded RNA RNA to its two strands is what starts the response, leading to the production of small RNA molecules which silence genes. There are now drugs that use this mechanism, also in humans. This has been replicated a million times by any sea-legance biologist in the world.
