The Future of Immigration Hostility

Hospitality allows us a framework that we can more or less be on the same frame sort of wavelength with because it is universally seen as a positive value across cultures. As a Muslim immigrant in the United States at the time, I was really shocked to see people show up at airports and with signs and chants of let them in about presumably immigrants who are coming from majority Muslim countries. The history of 9-11 and the Islamophobia that has been brewing for decades since was a pivotal moment to understanding how immigration hospitality in the US came from the public. In the UK you see quite a lot more positive views of immigration than the policy which we have come to call the hostile environment.
