The individuating principle, I think he's suggesting is posy as opposed to reason. Reason is unitary and the same for everyone, but what is it that individuates us? And this is reminiscent kind of a Nietzschean, you know, become yourself. Each of us with our own particular personality are on particular character. It might end some true me orgies, but it's a sacrifice we have to make.
