The Problem With Lou's Slow Progress
Lou is stuck above 28,000 feet behind a group of climbers who are making excruciatingly slow progress. When Lou left camp 13 hours ago, his expedition leader told him that today's turnaround time was 1 p.m. That means no matter where he is on the mountain, when the clock strikes one, he has to head back down. "I looked at my watch and I had a sick feeling inside of myself," says Lou.
