Is There a Cause for Adrenal Insufficiency?
There is something called adrenal insufficiency. The pituitary makes adrenal corticotropin hormone, ACTH, and it stimulates the adrenals to make cortisol. If you don't have that, if you have pituitary disease or something else going on up there you can have a secondary adrenalInsufficiency. Or if you have an autoimmune disease, and this is more rare than thyroid disease, then you could have a primary adrenalinsufficient. And that's very dangerous. So what, yeah, the adrenal fatigue thing is kind of like what we were talking about with the thyroid. It's pretty entertaining sometimes, although it can be frustrating.
