The Importance of National Service
When I did my startups in Silicon Valley, I never mentioned my military career. And then, you know, fast forward a quarter of a century post 9-11, people started saying, thank you for your service. Where the hell were you like 25 years ago when that was not a thing to be proud of? We've failed to build a single national identity. In fact, we basically are breaking into tribes. So with all that, I've had a constant belief since getting out of the service that it's some type of connection to to national interest would be helpful.
