The Biodiversity Summit in Canada
This summit is unusual. It was supposed to take place in Kunming, but the country's COVID restrictions meant that Canada had to step in to host it. When Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau gave his opening speech he was interrupted by a small group of young indigenous activists. Mr Trudeau stood in silence with something of a serene expression on his face as the demonstrators filed out of the room. But he made a quick comeback: "Being a democracy doesn't mean we all agree"
