Self Depreciating Sarcasm

People will often use self depreciating sarcastic replies when you ask them to do something they don't really want to do. Being able to joke about yourself suggest that you are confident and don't take yourself too seriously. Obnoxious sarcasm is just annoying and childish. It makes you seem like a jerk, an annoying or irritating person. Dead pan sarcasm is where a sarcastic remark is said completely seriously, without any emotion or humor.
