The New Perspective on Judaism
Some Jewish critics in Pauline studies have argued that the new perspective, including Jimmy's, paints Judaism in a worse slice than the old perspective. I think the reality is Jimmy was drawing from insights from lots of ancient resources that talked about Jews being private and focusing on in-group identity. So I feel comfortable saying the new perspective focuses on boundaries and who's in and who's out. Is this a worse portrayal of Judaism? No.
