The Importance of History

In history, you know, if you're learning to fly a plane or bake. You in a sense submit yourself to people who are experts on the subject. And so history, i think, any learning, is like that, or there's an open handed willingness to submit and to say 'i really could be wrong about something' In his essay on the use and abuse of history, friedrich nica argued that there are limits to various approaches to history. To what extent should a christian's faith transcend history? When, if ever, should one exercise the power to forget?
