The King Kong of the Fossil Fuel Subsidies in Australia
Fossil fuel subsidies in Australia are set to rise by 57 billion over the next three budget years. Of that, about 39 or 40 billion of it is this fuel tax credit scheme. It's what gets talked about the most in the media when we put this report out. Here is a policy that is providing abundant incentive for Australia's major fossil fuel users to not change their ways. We have to stop new exploration and extraction, completely divest from fossil fuels and keep the carbon in the ground.
