What Is a Covert Secret Immigration Service?
Mossad was set up to help Jews leave communist countries. The agency's name, Hamasad la Aliabet, means "Alternative Aliya" Mossad helped Jewish artists forge passports for those who wanted to flee the Soviet Union. Israel also had a clandestine immigration service in order to bring people into the country.
