Is Consciousness an Epiphenomenon?
I mean obviously this is a complex area and there are many arguments to be gone through for the information of the audience I go through. So there is a chapter 25 on matter and consciousness which is really a short book effectively in which I do talk about all these possibilities. And the weirdest by a very long way is that you know there are people who are well thought of and hold down chairs in universities in the western world who claim that consciousness doesn't exist. Now that really is a corker because of course it takes consciousness to say it. It takes consciousness to observe what the person thinks they've observed namely that consciousness doesn’t exist. And so on and so forth.
