The Emotions of Being in a Body Like This

The first three drafts of the book never addressed anything about my emotional state. I was just showing what had happened, and then moving on to the next one. It's two people sometimes a few more talking about something. You're witnessing something that is real and was real for me. But you can't tell yourself that you would have been sympathetic to me if only I had done the convincing more perfectly.
