Brazilian scientist Carlos Nobre recognizes that there are important lessons to be learned from Indonesia. Indonesian governments declare zero deforestation, no approval of any new areas for palm oil production. This just goes to show how countries outside the Amazon can help stop deforestation. But he says talking about deforestation is pointless if we can't get a handle on climate change itself.
