How to Intercept Your Emotions
We're going to start with what we call our loud interceptive cues. And then we'll move on to an activity around some of our more quiet interceptive cues, so our emotions. These activities literally only take like 30 seconds. So engaging in an interceptive task involves two rounds of changing a state and focusing and noticing how you perceive that state change. When we experience our emotion, do we immediately interpret that cognitively and create a cognitive story about it? Or do we actually just allow our body to experience that emotion, sit with it, let it dissipate,. Then decide what we want to do with it, or what it was telling us - the information it had to give us
