30 million Americans or one in 10 Americans under 65 lack health insurance at any given moment. More than twice as many Americans will have some period of time without health insurance coverage over a two-year period. To fix our coverage problem we need automatic universal basic coverage that's free for everyone no patient payments and then the option to buy supplemental coverage if you want more than the basic.
Amy Finkelstein, Professor of Economics at MIT, discusses her book We’ve Got You Covered: Rebooting American Health Care.
Hosts: Carol Massar and Tim Stenovec. Producer: Paul Brennan.
