Men of Mathematics by E.T. Bell was published just before he was a teenager. My generation was raised on that book and so it actually turned a lot of us into mathematicians. So if you're a teenager who reads that book, the effect is very strong where you feel if these people could do wonderful mathematics, then maybe I could too. And they're not just geniuses, they are very human.
