The Supreme Court, Is It an All-Time Low Among the Public?
I'm joining Hank Johnson and Jerry Nather to once again introduce legislation to expand the size of the court. Mitch McConnell so successfully gained the system by withholding an appointment from Barack Obama under the false pretext that well the election is coming up in about a year we can't possibly interfere with the choice of the voters. I also support term limits for the court, which meet the constitutional requirements if when a judge hits that term limit they're not removed from the bench but are then assigned to work on appeals or district courts. And at a certain point we have to say if the majority of Americans aren't making policy because of these structural impediments then how long can our democracy really thrive or survive?
