The History of Play
For most of human history, kids just played wherever they were. Play probably evolved to help kids practice different skills like coordination and cooperation. The Industrial Revolution was a big deal in Europe when people started making more stuff in factories instead of by hand at home. We're actually in beautiful New York City in the late 1800s.
