"I was stunned, quite frankly, to see that a 90 % of the content on the first page when you did a keyword search on the words black girl s was pornography or some type of hypersexualized content," she says. "So why are algorithms biased? One of the things that when we think about algaritms, that i think is a challenge here is we think of algorithms as objective, mathematical formulas."
