Thinking Tools for Computers and Life Skills

Hacking is mostly about understanding that there is often a more complicated layer of instructions which a simpler layer is built on top of. Computers sit in hierarchies, so each level of abstraction simplifies and reduces the layer below it to make it easier to understand. Some of this can allow you to do things which look impossible to a higher level but are an unintended feature of how the lower level works. This thinking tool works for computers but also for other areas of life. The problem is that people have a difficult time recognizing the skill and abstracting it away from where it was generated.
