The Natural Cycle of Exploration of Ideas by Industry

In a recent interview, Jacob Forrester said that industry is a place for exploitation of ideas and academia as a place for exploration. So how can you do something that is not done by the large and rich companies in one way or another? One way is to look at new problems. Problems that people aren't exploring, so they need to be like problems that maybe people don't think they're important. We started out in video games back when nobody thought it was anything that serious researchers should do. But we just didn't care. We wanted to work in this, so we did.
