How Do You Quantify a Trend Line?

So I've recently been doing futures algos. At the moment, I have free algos running either on sim or live. And then I'm also developing a trend line. The testing has really been built around seeing how other people test strategies. This was done through Ninja trader because I wanted this strategy on futures. It's quite a natural progression. You have an idea, then you're like, oh, actually, how the hell do I code this? Or how the hellDo I get data on this? Then obviously you need to get the data.
