A royal commission is where a commissioner or commissioners have the power to compel documents. It was really fought against for many years, but it came about when same sex marriage bill went through and made some politicians in the national party not happy. So if they can actually pull a stunt like that and get this bill through and blindsided us, we've always secretly wanted a royal commission. But there were other politicians who'd basically told the party line and said, okay, we won't call for a royal commission."
