Is DARPA a Good Investment?
I think that there's like sort of an excessive hope and faith being put on the ARPA model right now. The evidence base that we have to draw on is just thin because for two reasons it takes a while to figure out if these things have worked. Since everything is classified they can work on something for decades and then when it finally works it appears to us you know ex-nehalo like out of nothing.
