What's the Story of the Banshee?

The afterlife isn't some sort of, you know, realm where time is held in stasis and you just get to be amongst everyone who's passed on. Their ideas in older cosmologies were that the afterlife was again a mirror, a version of this world with technology from the deadlands. Stryber is fairly convinced that his cochlear implant was brought over from the other side. And he is going to start telling us a little bit about it.
