Axios, China reporter Bethany Allen Ibrahimian spoke with Yoshio Yo-Namane, a 69-year-old anti-base activist in Okinawa resident. Many Okinawans have opposed the US military presence for decades. There had been violent assaults against Okinawan women by US service members. And many Okinawans are afraid that they are going to be caught in the middle of another violent conflict.
