The Tolensa Valley of northeastern Germany has produced one of the most extraordinary archaeological sites ever found. The site is among the oldest battlefields ever discovered and excavated, and by far the largest of this extreme age. It will take decades longer to fully understand what happened in this placid northern European valley more than 3 millennia in the past. We're still only scratching the surface for everything we can learn from this incredible place.
