There are a whole bunch of traits on which we see sex differences. They're very rarely absolute differences. The really important difference, the purpose of my book, is on socio-sexuality. Women regard most men as unattractive, whereas men regard most women as attractive. There's sort of an arms race in the evolutionary in the history of our species,. In that men and women want slightly different things.

Ditching the stuffy hang-ups and benighted sexual traditionalism of the past is an unambiguously positive thing. The sexual revolution has liberated us to enjoy a heady mixture of erotic freedom and personal autonomy. Right? Wrong, argues Louise Perry in her provocative new book.
