The Female Dialect of Sumerian

Sumerian had distinct forms of speaking for men and women. It was thought that there were certainly plenty of people not just women using those forms. The lack of evidence inspires people to outlandish theories but the fact that emissal forms were regularly borrowed into surrounding languages suggest that it was not just something made up by scribes.
