The Centers for Disease Control released a report in September of 2019 and it opened with this bold and very heartbreaking statement. Black American Indian and Alaska native women are two to three times more likely to die from pregnancy related causes than white women. This disparity increases with age. I'm sorry that their language is not more inclusive of non binary and trans men who can have babies, but it continues to be the most pregnancy related deaths are preventable.
