Xi Jinping sees himself as a direct continuum from Mao and Deng Xiaoping, he's the new era. And his new era seems to be oriented towards truly bolstering China's national security and technology. People are most worried that he might use that victimization complex to crack down at home and to be more aggressive internationally.
