Behind Closed Doors Corruption in Democracies
Corruption is one of humanity's oldest stories, the misuse of power for private gain. The World Bank estimates that we lose at least $2.6 trillion of world GDP every year to corruption. It can damage democratic institutions and destroy a society's faith in their political system. We all know corruption is still a big problem today, but how big? That's debatable.
