Alex jones must pay forty five million dollars. The jury awarded that sum in punitive damages last week as jones stood trial for defamation. It was also decided he should pay an additional four point one million dollars in compensatory damages. State law cat texas state law caps the amount punitive damages can be. But there are other cases coming up in states like connecticut where there aren't caps.
